A new way to regenerate the Meazza San Siro Stadium in Milano
Avoid the demolition of San Siro and redevelop the “Giuseppe Meazza” stadium to return it to the city of Milan in a whole new guise. On these foundations rests the idea of PRINCIPIOATTIVO Architecture Group Srl, that has developed an analysis book and a proposal for the refurbishment and regeneration of the Milanese plant.
“If the main function of the stadium is no longer compatible with the structure, is it necessarily necessary to provide for the demolition of a symbol and an icon or can they be re-functionalized in view of the principles of urban regeneration? Urban regeneration is a concept that goes hand in hand with that of “zero land consumption” and means the recovery and redevelopment of parts of degraded cities, areas that have lost their original function through replacement interventions that limit the consumption of territory, safeguarding the environmental and landscape, and iconic aspects of a city “.
